Hi.

Well, I know my absenteeism is getting a bit out of hand. It's been nearly a year since the last journal entry I made, and I've finished off at least two sketchbooks in that time.

I can't really make a lot of excuses at the moment-- having been up for several hours already, my brain is hitting that point where it's starting to think that breakfast would be a good idea, and the rest of me is not inclined to argue.

Frankly, I've still been drawing--quite a bit, actually, though not nearly as much as I used to. I think that I'll probably try to take some time to sit down and scan some things over the weekend, though we'll have to see whether or not I make any progress as far as posting. I've taken up some new hobbies since the last time I posted anything, and some of them might have pictures making their way here also.

At the moment I'm job hunting, too, which eats a bit of time. Also writing, (though none of that really ever sees the light of day). At some point, I also acquired (horror of horrors!) a livejournal account, though I think I've spent more time ignoring that it exists than actually posting there either. Still, not that I haven't anything to post, mostly just lack of motivation to do so. Things should pop up here a little more quickly, though, so I hope to be able to share a bit more randomness with you all soon...

Yep, that's me. I know I've been really bad about updating here, but things have been rather more hectic than they should be over the past several months... so... eventually, I will get around to updating with some of the increasingly random things I've been working on in the interim...

There should be a strikeout there. I have no brain any longer, I think, after crocheting a scarf, forgetting to tie it off, and coming home to find out that the kitten had unraveled the entire thing and was rolling about in the mess of yarn it had been made of.

This aptly describes the past month or so for me. Yay me.

so lol got all my sketched done... went to do my color and my black Prismacolor died halfway through the first pic.
Go through more black markers... geez, I've gone through six since I got this set of Prismacolors. haven't finished any of the other colors LOL

So I was going to finish & scan my reference pics for my plushie so I could send my order off tonight, but now I am unhappy

Also went to use my iPod while waiting for my parents at Borders today and discovered that after the last time I'd used it, I'd turned it off but not slid the "hold" switch over, so the battery was dead. That's right, folks--for the first time since I bought it, there was no battery charge. At all. Wouldn't even turn on. YARGH OMG MY OWN PERSONAL NIGHTMARE!!!! LOL got all kinds of weird looks as I went "What the--?" shook it, and then cried "Noooooooo..........!" Yup.

On the bright side, we have a new person starting tomorrow at work so maybe we will finally get caught up, LOL yeah. Bet none of you have ever seen two attorneys try to move a desk before... hah. Amusimente, no?

So. Next item on the agenda is to find myself a bit of free time during lunch and recolord everything with my color pencils, so everything would be consistent.

Of Mikitty, LOL considering how rarely I draw his face (I don't think anyone who is reading this has ever seen a drawing of Mikitty's face.)

No kidding. So... I am drawing up the outfit at the moment and the next step is to draw Mikitty in the outfit--lucky me, I can't seem to draw the same thing in the same way more than once, so this is going to lead to tracing (yeah, yeah, boo--hiss) but yeah I have to find someone who is willing to do the fluffeh-tufted kitty ears, even if the rest of the ear is smooth. That and the hair is (as I think of it) sort of brown-tabby and then there's the weird length. LOL I know I am being picky...

Oh, and the coat. Must have the coat LOL--once I find someone to order meh plushie from and have got things going in that direction, I will end up posting my skectches in scraps.

lol I want to wear the coat myself... but it'd be much too small!

Drawing in the dark may SEEM like a cool idea, but it's not terribly productive. Trust me.

Especially considering that out cat was attracted by the clicking of the little dangly charms on my mechanical pencil--and could -see- them in the dark.

Yargh. So. Um. Yeah, basically dropped back off the face of the planet for about a week. Am actually kinda sick/dizzy and unable to focus jusrt now so please forgive randomw eirdness. And.
Er. I know you're gonna hate me for this...
Did basically nothing in the way of art. I know, I know, I keep telling you I have stuff but I need to scan it, and then I don't (you know who you are, and I'm sorry) and I now have TWO versions of Madi-san's Temari picture and I still haven't finished either. and I owe people art.

Cannot apologize enough, but life's still trying to run me through the wringer. On the bright side: Something nice I can still do for you--most of the guitar picks are still available, though I suppose technically should get first dibs, as she named an enitire set for me So she gets first dibs.

Some of them are drilled (using an exacto knife, lol) for a jump ring, and if you are curious whether the one you are interested in is this way, please don't hesitate to ask. If it isn't drilled and you would like it to be, that's fine, too--just remember that I can't fill the holes in again afterward so be sure that's what you want!

Finally home!!!!
Might not seem like it but trip out to OR and back from up near Seattle kills. We were on the road waaaay early. (Putting on elf ears at 4:00 AM is NOT easy btw, sooooo not.) Excuse my rambling cuz I need to work tomorrow and um yah w/e. I need to get to sleep ASAP

ZOMG totally forgot to take pics... ohno took exactly 3... random w/e nothing important pics, too. AJ took some pics tho. Yaaaaay.

Remembered guitar picks and only gave out like three.

Did somehow remember to ask Ari Berk & Brian Froud to sign. Gave Mask pick to Ari Berk & Incan gold pick to Brian Froud.
Uh. Just realized I somehow missed Wendy Froud, too. *more guilt*

Managed to save the fangirling until we were in the car this time, too. Not sure how, parking lot was much farther away and it was quite difficult.

Regarding the guitar picks, did a bunch up and then forgot I'd left them on the porch--left them overnight and rediscovered them on the way out to work. Had taken a nap and ended up sleeping through the night. Oops. Mostly unharmed--couple got shifted somehow during the night and will need repairs... should be fine by Sunday morning.
Hopefully I will not forget about them in all the rush.

Anyone going?? It's in Eugene, OR in July.

I am DEFINATELY going! I've already ordered my ticket & will be there on July 22... I'm going w/ mom & sis & AJ & one of AJ's friends--and AJ is driving.

LOL knowing me I will forget to do this, but I am planning to bring my sketchbook and my camera and am perfectly willing to send on random sketchy things or photos to anyone who tags me down and is willing to provide me w/ an e-mail or deviantArt SN + a signature in my sketchbook. LOL
"I will be taking names and flooding dA w/ randomly drawn sketches!"

I will probably find SOME time to draw at some point. Maybe after instead of during, since I want to do as much as I can while I'm there. I'll be lucky if I don't just draw on myself instead... especially since I have to work the next day.

If you're planning on going, let me know! I look forward to seeing anyone and everyone. I will probably be wearing pink.. n I have ordered my elf ears which I will need to figure out how to apply at some point--they're supposed to be shipping tomorrow. I've got my spirit gum & liquid latex and I have some basic stage makeup how-to, but does anyone have any suggestions about how to hide seams from elf ear tips that fit over the curve of your ear?

I would also love to take photos with anyone who is willing and am looking forward to everything about it.

Holly Black + Ari Berk+ Brian & Wendy Froud will be there. Yahhhhh such a fangirl moment waiting to happen. LOL I am beginning to think that my brain becomes waaay too attached to anything art related. (i.e. last July's Mercedes Lackey & Larry Dixon fangirling moment is one example). And I, at least, feel that tagging down random famous people at this sort of event is somewhat more forgivable than randomly stopping people when they are probably trying to escape (*cough*poor Jason Hill excepted, of course...still highly amused). omg i want to get their autographs.... lol still trying to figure out how to carry everything I -need- to carry AND everything i -want- to carry. LOL I don't have enough guitar picks done to carry around a pocketful and present them to people at random... I think. waugh. I need to carry my cards w/ me tho.
